Recently, a very tall bridge
was built in Mexico. The name of the bridge is “Puente Baluarte.” It connects the states of Sinaloa and Durango. It is 1,124
meters long. Mexico started building the bridge in 2008 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the country’s independence from Spain. When it was completed last
month, it became the tallest bridge in the world. So how tall is it? Suspended 400 meters over the ground
by 152 steel
ropes, the cable-stayed bridge is actually taller than the Eiffel
Tower in Paris. The Eiffel Tower is 324 meters tall.
Recently, Guinness World Records declared the bridge as the world’s highest. A highway is under
construction to connect mountain
crags and deep ravines of the Sierra Madre. When the highway is
completed later this year, people will be able to travel
faster.
